I hope that this email is useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family.  Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.

Praying for the Parish

Please pray this week for all in these roads:

  • Orchard Close
  • Park Road

The Collect for 5 - 10 July

Almighty and everlasting God,
by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church
  is governed and sanctified:
hear our prayer which we offer for all your faithful people,
that in their vocation and ministry
they may serve you in holiness and truth
to the glory of your name;
through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen

Monday

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-7, NIV)

Loving Father, by your Holy Spirit, please help us to rejoice always, whatever our circumstances. Remind us that you are always near to us, encourage us to bring all our worries and anxieties to you, help us to know that we can have peace with you, all through Jesus Christ. Fill us with the true joy that comes from knowing Jesus. Amen.

Tuesday

We continue to pray, Lord, for our government and its advisors, as they try to make the best decisions for our country in terms of relaxation of COVID regulations. Please would you enable them to think clearly and without bias, and help them to make wise and just decisions, for your glory. Amen.

Wednesday

Lord Jesus Christ, light of this world, thank you for the hope you have given us.
Help us to give our worries to you and, above all, to trust in your unfailing love.
For you have promised us "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you."
Almighty God, our protector, let us trust in you to carry us through this time of uncertainty.
Jesus, hear our cries as we mourn those who've left us.
Whatever tomorrow may bring, we will praise your name.
Amen.

Thursday

Loving Father, we bring to you all those we love who are ill or suffering this week. Please be near them in their time of weakness and pain; sustain them by your grace, so that their strength and courage would not fail. We pray that you will heal them, and please would you help them to know your peace throughout their treatment and recovery. Where people are facing uncertainty, please would you grow their trust in you more and more, so that they know truly that you will be with them through everything, and be able to rest in you. Amen.

Friday

Our Lord God, we thank you for all your blessings,
for life and health, for laughter and fun,
for our homes and love of dear ones.
for everything that is beautiful and true.
Above all we thank you for giving us your Son
to be our Saviour and Friend.
May we always find our true happiness
in helping others to love and know you.
For Jesus' Christ's sake. Amen.

Saturday

God, help our church body to walk in a manner worthy of the calling You have given us. Help us in all our interactions with one another to have humble and gentle hearts. Grant us patience for one another, bearing with one another in love. Grant the Body of Christ unity. May we walk humbly with You, God, allowing You to show us our wrongs. Amen.
